Honda Civic and a Toyota Hilux Collide Head-on, Killing Two

Malaysia. Two men were killed and another was injured in a horrific head-on collision involving a Honda Civic and a Toyota Hilux on the Jalan Gambang–Maran route on Friday.

The teenage driver, identified as Muhammad D. H. and his 40-year-old front passenger in the Honda Civic died at the scene due to severe head injuries. Both victims became tightly pinned in the wreckage before being extracted by rescuers.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux, a 41-year-old transport manager for an agricultural firm, sustained head, arm, and leg injuries. Passersby rushed him to the hospital for medical care.

The Police reported that the collision occurred around 1:45 PM. The Honda Civic was heading along the route when the driver reportedly lost control while navigating a sharp bend, veering directly into the opposite lane and slamming head-on into the oncoming Toyota Hilux.

Firefighters arrived at the scene with specialized cutting tools to extricate the trapped victims from the crushed sedan.

Locals and road users have long noted that this stretch of the dual-line road is dangerous due to speeding drivers who illegally overtake across double lines.
