Brazil. A 34-year-old man, known as J, was shot dead late Friday afternoon. The victim was in a cafeteria/restaurant when three men shot him about 15 times and fled.

According to witnesses, another person was injured by the shots, but would have left the scene. More customers were in the establishment at the time the shooting took place.

The victim has several passages by the police and is investigated.

When the ambulance arrived, he was already dead. We didn't have a chance to revive him, as he had several bullet holes in vital places," said a rescuer.

A long time ago, there was this movie called The Dead Zone based on Stephen King's novel (with Christopher Walken and Martin Sheen). There's this scene where Sheen's character, upon being fired upon by an assassin, grabs a baby from a woman and holds it up as a shield. At the time I thought that was ridiculous and far fetched.

Nothing shocks me anymore. This isn't the first time I've seen people hiding behind innocents, but this one takes the cake. Hiding behind the kid and deliberately exposing the kid to gunfire, jeezus.
