Sarasota police are asking for help identifying a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a man in a wheelchair who was in a crosswalk.

Police would like you to look closely at the photos and accompanying video to see if you recognize the vehicle.

Investigators say the hit and run happened at 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of 17th Street and U.S. 301 in Sarasota.

Officers believe that the victim, Michael Wright, 48, of Sarasota was crossing U.S. 301 at 17th Street in his wheelchair and in the crosswalk when he was struck by an unknown type of vehicle.

Wright passed away Tuesday morning from injuries he sustained in the crash.

There are no witnesses who have come forward at this time and officers say they have little information in the case.

There is a red light camera at the intersection of 17th Street and U.S. 301. Officers are working to retrieve that video from the red light camera company, however it could take several weeks.

As a resident of Texas, this statement is factual. I got a $75 red light ticket for not fully stopping when turning right at a red light....I was pictured 05/03/2015 and it was in my mailbox 05/15/2015.

Shit is fucking retarded, it's actually more dangerous because people will slam on their brakes when the light turns yellow, instead of just going through.
