Re: Guy Trying to Stop a Delivery Truck Killed by Heavy Metal Gate
I have one in Thailand and BOTH ends are or should be enclosed in a secure steel apparatus that stops this sort of accident happening. Look at the left hand end of gate, there is a section of steel that sits in a steel slot attached to the wall and another on the other end, which fits into another slot where a padlock is usually fitted. Ok not what we would call hinges but the damn gate does not just run on rollers. FFS! How the hell do you imagine the gate stays up when you open it. That gate opens to the left. When the lorry backed into the gate it ripped the support section out of the support slot (look at left hand end of the gate laying on the deck) and also the supporting lock section on the other end. That is why it fell on the guy. |

Re: Guy Trying to Stop a Delivery Truck Killed by Heavy Metal Gate
The versions i see around here are the ones with just some sort of one strip track for rollers under. its quite solid when the ends are housed in their end enclosure where they nook nicely in receiving slots mounted on the posts. but quite unstable when its partially opened/closed. |
