You probably meant to say that he DID cut his windpipe, otherwise how was he able to breath out (or cough) through his neck with about 3 seconds into the video? Judging by the color of the blood and the amount and pressure the blood is flowing it looks like he hit a vein, probably the anterior jugular vein, which is tiny compared to the internal jugular vein or the cartoid arteries. His mistake was to cut from the front. The Windpipe made of Cartilage is probably not easy to get trough and to make the real damage from this angle he probaly would need to cut through (or almost through) his windpipe to hit the bigger vessels. All the bigger blood vessels are located somewhat more to the sides of the necks (like where you push your fingers into to feel a pulse) - nicking one of those would be more catastrophic... But I mean, talking about Neck anatomy, haven't we all had some of the best teaching videos on this website here?  |
