Re: Guy with a Nasty Mangled Face Takes a Few Freaky Breaths
Are we even sure the people laughing are in the room with this guy? ERs aren't always set up with closed rooms, many older ones may have only curtains to separate rooms. We might be hearing people close by but unaware what's going on in treatment bay #2.

Re: Guy with a Nasty Mangled Face Takes a Few Freaky Breaths
This is classic agonal breathing, if you ever wanted to know about such a thing. This is not real breathing; the person here is, for all intents and purposes, already dead--at the very least, unconscious. So for anyone worried about his "suffering", don't; he's not home anymore, even if it looks like the lights might be on. This weird, gasping, muscle-twitching kind of breathing is not effective breathing the way we think of breathing. It's more like a reflex and indicates damage to certain parts of the brain. <3 |
