On New Years day, shoppers witnessed a savage and unprovoked attack on a 21-year-old woman by a man suffering with mental illness.

The woman suffered over 36 deep stab wounds and severed several tendons, but, survived the attack.

Since moving to Oakland 4 years ago, i have intervened and stopped 2 robberies and an assault. Obviously every case needs to be assessed individually but i would like to think yes. yes i would.
