After 3 seconds of freefalling you would be moving at about 105km/hr. And then stopping completely in a fraction of a second when hitting the water. This guy was falling for about 2.75 seconds.
So basically being hit by a little car at freeway speed with a giant cushion on it. I feel like I could limp it off after that but maybe not

I think most people underestimate the impossibility of regaining composure after you’ve been unconscious for a couple seconds with water filling your lungs.

Knocked out on impact. Inhaled water while unconscious. It was all over from there.

So there must be a critical point at which the dive becomes deadly. I wonder if it's the same for everyone or if it's a combination of the person's weight versus distance in which they dropped. It seems like when you see cliff divers that they go at a higher height. Now I've got to research this......lol
