It's a cultural thing. I've seen so many videos of Asians just being oblivious to their surroundings. I wonder if it just is learned behavior from being around such large crowds due to living in high population urban areas.

Incorrect. The forklift driver was supposed to be driving with the load and forks trailing him so he could see what's in front of him. If that was an electric lift than yeah they can be pretty quite but most likely it was propane and those are pretty loud.
