~ It was an already laid out plan to get richer & richer, in simple steps, that didn't blossom. ~ The robbers' team big idea was to rob weapons, make a heist, then keep robbing more weapons, while making bigger heists, everytime thereafter, and so on, and so on. ~ Their only rookie mistake was in robbing a gun shop, because they will always have bigger weapons, bigger guns, & will always be more prepared. |

Perhaps there were people outside (potentially armed) who would have noticed if he pulled his gun prior to entering the store. That would be a complication he would want to avoid. But he could have walked in casually and acted like a customer before pulling his gun.
