GSW Makes a Mediocre Effort
A young man who was shot in, what appears to be, both lungs fails in his attempt to just walk it off. Nonetheless, a B- for effort was still bestowed unto him, as he was able to juggle the simultaneous nuisance of a neighbourhood varmint.

Re: GSW Makes a Mediocre Effort
I think the people talking to him probably care. That may even be why he rolled over: Because they were asking him what happened or how he was hurt. There's just not much they can do for him besides call for the professionals and wait with him. I'll say this: He looks like he's doing a helluva lot better than my old neighbor did when he got shot. One .40 S&W to the abdomen was enough end him via internal bleeding and pneumothorax (died in the ambulance). This kid is responsive, not coughing blood all over the place or seizing, the entrance wounds look small-caliber and are high enough on the chest to have missed the lower lobes of the lung and the heart, and he doesn't appear to be bleeding profusely. He probably should have remained on his side instead of his back, but he could probably make it with a little chest tube treatment and surgery if the EMTs got there quick enough. |
