Oh my fucking God, that video is 10X worse. Not just the lack of groovy music, it shows the stuntman getting flame roasted and then his charred corpse. One of the more macabre deaths on Documenting Reality, totally unnecessary after he made it thru once and had won the prize. Maybe he couldn't take any more of the 1970's (happened in 1972 IIRC) and wisely decided to check out before another awful liberal episode of All In The Family or MASH. I hadn't heard of this guy or stunt or seen it before, maybe this film was withheld for years / decades because it was so disturbing...

He died maybe 15 feet short of the end of the tunnel. His attractively thin blonde wife / girlfriend is being led away by an associate. You can bet that comforting turned into sex in the car real quick as he took advantage of the shock of the new widow.

One might be surprised as to how effective radiated heat can be. Quite honestly, I'm surprised he made it through the first time. I thought THAT was going to be his demise. I guess the fire grew even stronger after his first pass through and, well, as the commentator said "lack of oxygen in the carby". He may have even passed out himself from lack of oxygen, in order to even stay concious.  (And on that note - It's quite possible that after the first run, his helmet already lacked oxygen and he kept breathing wonderful CO2 and CO).
