it's actually a natural human response, regardless of level of training to continue firing until the gun runs dry, sometimes continuing to pull the trigger afterwards. does it look excessive? yes, but it's what could be expected if you were fearing for your life. As far as the knife argument goes, 21 feet is the magic distance. Any closer and anyone with a knife would have time to not only charge you, but inflict serious damage before you could even register whats going on. And he was a fuck ton closer than 21 feet. Maybe 9 and that being generous. All in all, if you don't want the police to shoot you, dont be criminal? It's a start anyway

Ok...have you lost your mind? You're being far too rational, logical, and appear to have actual knowledge/experience. There's absolutely no way some of these folks are going to understand that.
