I saw the video and read the artical. I'm sick and tired of seeing the police get off murder charges because they say they thought their life was in danger. The only knife I saw was the one the officer used to cut of the guys shirt (that he then so nicely placed on the side of the bed of the truck).

I realize this guy had been in trouble with the law in the past.

But what I can't understand is why do the police have to shoot a person 11-13 times and kill them. At that close of a rang the cop was from the guy, he could have shot him once or twice to disable him but not kill him.

Okay, I'm getting pretty sick of everyone blaming the cop for this, so once again I'm going to go back to my lovely theory of "No innocent person is ever shot by the police." As a licensed CCW holder I have been in contact with the police on more than one occasion with a concealed firearm, and yet, I'm still here to post about it. How is this possible with all the trigger happy gunman police? You ask. Well I stay put and listen to them, and don't make sharp aggressive movements for something in my vehicle.

This guy was warned multiple times to put down the knife (Which yes, he did have, since people can't seem to read let me sum it up, they found it in the bed of the truck. He probably had it in his hands, and when the first shots hit he dropped it while his hand was on the roof, so it fell into the bed, they were looking for it on the ground.

Addressing the number of shots fired. I have taken several High Stress training classes, and talked to a number of people in the military and law enforcement that have had to discharge their weapons in a high stress situation, and when your life is on the line, I bet it's even worse, but I know from personal experience how fast you can burn through a mag.

I was using a Izzy AK-74 with 30 round mags, and when you're under stress engaging a target, you pull the trigger until you hear a click instead of a bang. The officer probably did think he only fired 6 shots, and he probably didn't intend to shoot the guy on the ground, but when your adrenaline is rushing, and you think you're going to die, you put your sights on the target, and pull the trigger until it's down.

When we were hunting boar, I was charged by a 350lb Russian Razorback. I had a Remington 870 with a 7 round tube +1 in the chamber of 3" 00 buckshot. That is a pump gun, with a lot more recoil, and I emptied all 8 rounds, but I swore I only shot 3-4, you just put the gun on the target and shoot until it's over, and if you've never been in a situation like that, you will never understand it, and trying to condemn a man for something you don't understand is the definition of ignorance.

So to summarize it was justified, and if you're so worried about getting shot by the police, just stop being a 'bulletproof' thug who thinks you can get away with whatever you want because you're better than everyone, because you're not, and if you try, you'll die, and rot in the ground like everyone else.

You civilians just don't get it. Cops get killed every single week of the year by hesitating when a suspect makes a deadly move toward them. Hundreds more get seriously injured. You try intentionally approaching lethally dangerous individuals on a daily basis and we'll see how twitchy you get. And the number of shots fired? No matter how well trained, under the duress of a life and death situation, most police officers will vastly underestimate the number of rounds fired. They think they fired two rounds, and really they fired five. Times that by three or four officers on scene that are all thinking they need top this individual RIGHT NOW and that's where you get your high round counts...

I don't fucking think it matters whether it was truly "justified". Every cop who shoots a civilian is automatically cleared of any wrong doings. I say, lets all join the academy and kill each other off and get paid vacations and heroic awards for it. For murdering people. Grand Idea!

He obviously had a warrant against him for something because the cops waited for their prey. Maybe he was a suspect in another murder case. I don`t know, but the video is obviously shocking.

Handcuffing him after shooting him 13 times was unnecessary. If I was a judge, I would have that cop sentenced to hard time in a penitentiary.
