Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
I'm pretty sure that guy was still able to hear the cop tell him to put his hands up in the ear even though he had his earphones. Maybe if he would have listened to the cops orders he would still be alive, but the cop was so stupid to hand cuff the guy when he shot him, he let him face down with a gun wound to his chest, that position must have lead that poor guy to choke on his own blood. What a stupid ignorant fucken cop, idiot.

Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
The problem is, wearing headphones can be a bluff to give the police the impression they are going to remove them so they have enough time to get out a gun and shoot. He was facing the officer for 4 seconds before the shot was fired (0:33 to 0:37). Even so, it would have been best that the officer shot the leg of the suspect, as that would have disabled him so if he did have a gun he'd have a hard time shooting back, and if he was innocent there was a (much) greater chance he would survive. |

Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
The "official " conclusion of this shooting said the officer was justified in his actions. I have a big fucking problem with not only the action but the terminology used to describe it. "Justified" infers the was justice in the act. Justified is a word to use when the person shot was threatening the officer or another human being. An "accidental" shooting would be someone did not intend to shoot the victim as in cleaning a gun and it unexpectedly fired. This cop clearly intended to shoot the victim. Although the victim was thought to have been an unknown armed man in the area, the actual identity had NOT been established. This is all to set up the idea that this poor guy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and made a "threatening" movement while cops had their guns on him. Now, I must ask is simple movement is a capital offense worthy of death sentence? Are the expectations of actually seeing a damn weapon before opening fire reasonable? Don't get me wrong, police have a right to defend themselves, but restraint is what they should be fucking trained in. This was not an active bank robbery where suspects were already identified. The police were not responding to a call where any imminent threat was confirmed or even implied. At this point they should be only assessing the scene and situation. Why were they advancing on a "suspect" they believed to be armed? We have all seen felony traffic stops where police take defensive positions and use loud speakers to clearly issue commands. The same tactic should be used here just the same. The police should not have been advancing on this suspect. THAT is the critical action that lead to this shooting and that was a wrongful act. This is a wrongful shooting, not a justified shooting. And these words and distinctions matter. The fact that these officers advanced into a potentially dangerous situation without performing the correct protocols is not being addressed. This shooting was preventable. It was avoidable. We as citizens who are licensed to carry firearms would not be allowed to pull our weapons and fire on another human being for making a suspicious or even threatening movement. We would be arrested and put in jail if we did that. What makes this cops life any more valuable than anyone else's life? This cop is wrong for the job, and should not be allowed to carry a gun. Yes he fucked up. And there should be consequences the same as any other person who did what he did.

Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
I know. Isn't it pathetic that the cop spends more time looking for the non-existent weapon than he does trying to keep the boy alive??? Are you seriously so terrified that you have to handcuff a boy whose heart you've already obliterated????? Cops are paid to die. That is the risk they take for the power they are given. Young innocent boys are not paid to fucking die. How terrible are we that cops in the Mormon god-fearing capital of the world are terrified of a boy with an ipod??

Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
I worked in LE for over ten years. There's a little thing called escalation of force, this fuckin guy went straight from an asp or even pepper spray to lethal force. In addition we were taught to never fire until you actually seen a weapon and the weapon was in the process of being lifted in your direction or the direction of bystanders. Our instructor, an FBI agent came right out and said "any unjustified use of force and I will have you put in jail". This is outright murder in my opinion and that bastard deserves no better than he gave. |

Nope, fuck your bias post. Cops are tired of taking people's shit. Furtive movements is grounds for lethal force.
