Gospel Singer Found Partially Carbonized in Thicket
Dias d'Ávila, Bahia state, Brazil The pastor and gospel singer S.A., 35, was found dead, her body having been partially carbonized. She had disappeared after leaving for a women's meeting in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador. The body was discovered burned on the edge of a highway near the municipality of Dias d'Ávila. The victim's husband stated that she had never disappeared before and denied having recently fought with his wife. He was the one who identified the body from the ring she wore on her finger. UPDATE: The husband, E.M., was arrested on Saturday (28) after confessing to the crime. According to a friend of S., there were no events in churches in the city, on the time and day reported by E. According to her sister, S. had told her mother on the day she disappeared that she was about to make an important decision, but did not reveal any specifics. The sister also released an audio clip in which E. stated he wished to purchase a gun, and S. saying she would end the marriage if such a purchase was made. Police investigations pointed to the participation of more than one person in the death of S., but as to not hinder the investigation, further specifics could not be disclosed. |
