Sparks exiting the muzzle are fairly common.

Definitely from the mild steel jacketing used in many bullets.

AK's are famous for this because most AK rounds are manufactured using mild steel jackets.

US bullets are generally jacketed using Copper as the jacketing material.

Eastern countries generally use mild steel as the jacketing material for reasons of cost.

Copper is not that much more gentle on barrel rifling than a proper alloy of mild steel.

Steel against steel will generate sparks.

Really? I usually have good eye for that. We can't see the damage at all, but I got the feeling that it was a double barrelled shotgun used. Haven't you noticed that shotguns produce those types of sparks? Same sound too. Definitely, the shooter didn't have to draw another round, so maybe a side by side type, like for duck shooting. You can see similar sparks come from a shotgun in a 2017 Brazilian video; this kids on his back getting blasted in a roadway at night--cobblestone, neighbours fussing out of their windows. Remember?
