Nairobi, A Total fuel station attendant died, while another sustained injuries after a 33-seater matatu (bus) veered off the road and ploughed into them.

CCTV shows two female petrol station attendants serving a motorist when the incident occurred.

One of the women died, while the other was taken to hospital injured.

Police launched a hunt for the driver of the killer matatu afterthe driver escaped during rescue and fire containment efforts.

“One of our staff members died after she was crushed in the ribs and legs, while the injured was taken to Hospital, where she was treated and discharged,” added the Total station manager.

Police say they are yet to establish what caused the vehicle to hurtle off the road, though they’re suspecting brake system failure.

Is it just me or could they both have avoided that if they were paying attention?

She was paying attention, to the customer and her duty, it was just a bad time to turn.

That bus squashed her real good though, look at all that blood.

Nice how the bollard and pony wall stopped the vehicle from penetrating

How can you not see or hear something going on like that!?! That bus was moving pretty slow and not coming in at breakneck speed. You’d think there was enough time to recognize a situation and move your dead ass out of the way. Situational awareness is key in living a long(er) life..

~ Seems like it happens everytime. Worn out brakes vs worn out brains. Brains Lose!
~ I think both the bus driver & the attendants expected a quick stop, either way, to any out of control vehicles, with that useless & worthless barrier in the way.

Far out. This is how easily things can go bad. I had an incident today which quite easily could have ended like this. Walking towards the entrance of a petrol station and a truck reversed into a bowser - the bowser fell down just a few feet in front of me. Had I left the car a second earlier to walk towards the store I'd have been crushed and probably would have ended up on here lol.
