Just for jokes right after you hear the blade released you could say "I buried the gold in..."

Re: French Guillotine Compilation & Last French Guillotine Execution
Once I read an interview with retired executioner from a french prison, they used guillotines, and he said sometimes he had to use knife to finish the job, when the blade got stuck in the middle of throat. Imagine that shit, nasty.

Re: French Guillotine Compilation & Last French Guillotine Execution
I did read somewhere that during the French Revolution a father and son execution crew had a busy morning chopping of the heads and there was so much blood on the wooden platform that the son slipped in the blood, went over the edge and broke his neck when he hit the floor. Most of the executioners from the 1920 onwards were from two or three families and tended to intermarry within their tight group where possible. If I remember correctly, the French nickname for executioners was “Burro” or something similar. Under a quirk of French law, from 1900 onwards, no prisoner could be executed when still in official prison custody. So, just after their Toilet de Mort, basically a quick haircut and having their shirt collar cut off, the condemned prisoner was officially released from prison custody and was required to sign a document to say he’d been ceremonially released. When that was out of the way, the guards then quickly marched him to meet Madam Guillotine and the executioners performed their well rehearsed task. |

Re: French Guillotine Compilation & Last French Guillotine Execution
The original editor slowed down the film when the lever was pulled. It is actually much faster in reality. I think someone somewhere fixed this clip so it's more true to form.
