This is true they did an experiment with a criminal who is able to blink his eyes and answer yes or no to simple questions

The evidence suggests that the head is conscious and can smell farts up to an hour after decapitation

Yeah, because keeping a mass murderer alive and fed in prison for 30 years on taxpayer money with no chance of rehabilitation totally makes sense.. In this context I'd rather be a medieval savage than a civilized person.

This is a key point. It's not some hypothetical "what if" situation, as history is filled with examples of people being wrongfully convicted, and executed as a result.

An innocent who has been incarcerated can be set free. An innocent who has been executed is still just as dead.
