Re: Four Painters Electrocuted By Power Line
Wow, that's intense. The way they all jolt at the same time and can't let go. The one guy getting away (and leaving at least one person still alive and on fire!). It's hard watching the one on the right twitch and move on fire starting around 2:30, and the guy on the left doing the same around the seven minute mark. Poor people.

Re: Four Painters Electrocuted By Power Line
the overhead lines are circuit protected by a main breaker in the sub station. it will trip 3 times meaning it will come back and test and lock out if the line(s) are not clear. the guys created a partial ground keeping the lights on. had they pushed 2 lines together it would have burned them down and maybe saved their lives. these guys should have known about power line hazards but shit happens, being it friday or hang over monday. we pulled up to investigate a report of a flash in the area and the sub did show a relay on the circuit. a painter with a long alum pole on scaffolding came in contact with 34.5 line. there was a flash imprint of his body on the wall. they all talked about the hazard during the tailgate meeting but still, we are human and we do make mistakes. |
