Just behind them there was a pedestrian crossing—as useless a marking as ever, plaguing these less-developed countries, with less stringent traffic laws and semaphore implementation. Rest in peace, beautiful girl—my heart bleeds for you and your loved ones. Situational awareness is everything, people—especially when in traffic. In never ceases to amaze me how negligent pedestrians/cyclists can be with their own lives—or, conversely, some drivers disregard the lives of others. The truck driver is primarily at fault, though—and the city. (For lack of traffic lights, in lieu of the zebra.)  |
