Re: Forced Suicide
Such a weird looking video. There's like a fuzzy black glow outlining him, and then he looks like a Team America marionette doing a stupid dance.

Re: Forced Suicide
It only works when you press on both common carotid arteries at or below the carotid sinus. Too high up and you press the external carotid(giving the brain more blood). If you only press one the other carotid undergoes reflex-dilation & with the bacillary artery plus one internal carotid artery, the circle of Willis will keep the brain+consciousness functioning just fine... UNLESS the person is under increased oxygen demand... like as in physical exhaustion... like from a hard fight... Basically this guy Steve is wrong. If it was truly on both his carotids at or below the carotid sinus, then the man would be out in less than 5 seconds. Yes I just double checked with costanzo physiology book: less than 6 seconds if you are chilling+relaxed. If you press on both your common carotid arteries well, you will be unconscious in under ten seconds, and I am willing to put money on it. |

Re: Forced Suicide
Having or lacking the ability to inhale oxygen has very little& sometimes nothing to do with going unconscious in a hanging. You can inhale and exhale all you want and still die, so long as the circulation of blood is restricted to the brain.... though yes when you hang with a rope you tend to crush the trachea enough to where it is very uncomfortable/impossible to breathe. If done properly, you can allow the respiratory airways to be fully functional to take a breaths of air, AND starve the brain of oxygen with pressure to the carotids+jugular veins to kill the brain even as you breathe. |
