And yes it was water vapor, the shockwave was likely travelling faster than the speed of sound and it condensed the water vapor, it must have been a very humid condition that day.

Now I'm curious if a surrounding body of water could impact how far a shock wave travels. That question reminded me of a video where a guy records a volcanic explosion from a boat and you can see the shock wave coming. I wonder if the blast radius would be greater if all the conditions in the video were the same, but replacing ocean with flat land.

Side note: I should've paid more attention in physics class. lol
