Re: Florida Cop Shoots Dog - Claims Self Defense.

I hate when cops kill dogs, but when an animal charges out of a door like that, it was destined to get a lead piercing.

Re: Florida Cop Shoots Dog - Claims Self Defense.

I'm not a police officer hater and I am a dog lover.

At my house whenever anyone - friend, door-to-door salesman, anyone - knocked, the absolute first thing we did was grab the leash and attach it to the dog's collar and held him/her in another room prior to opening the door. Even if we felt ( <== critical word) that the dog wasn't a danger to the person we followed SOP.

There was no reason whatsoever the residents of the house should have opened that door prior to restraining the dog. None. As much as it pains me to see someone's family pet member die, in this instance the police officer was justified.

Those owners should've watched and learned from Cesar Millan, you never know, it might have prevented this.

Re: Florida Cop Shoots Dog - Claims Self Defense.

y'all cray. copper justified, although more details are needed to properly dispense DR justice. Did he announce hisself as a cop when knocking? If so, shooting was justified because owners, upon hearing that a cop's outside, should've secured the dog properly in anticipation of just such an incident occurring. am I right or am I right?
I hate to see a pet die, but in my opinion, it was justified whether he was a police officer or not, and justified whether he had announced himself as a police officer or not. An armed civilian would have been just as justified in reacting in the exact same fashion as that officer did given the same circumstances.

I've owned dogs my entire life, and I would never consider cracking a door open enough so my dog could run out ahead of me like this girl did. Granted, dressed liked that, it's doubtful she had any intentions of opening the door very far anyway. A responsible dog owner would place themselves between the dog and the door to prevent a situation such as this. Block the door with a leg. Teach the dog a verbal command. Something. Anything. It's just common decency.

While it is possible that this particular dog may not have harmed the officer, how was he to know that? Especially a dog of that size and build. He reacted in the way he was trained to when rushed by a dog.

Isn't that what so many here on this site get so upset about so often, when officers do not react in an appropriate manner as their training dictates? Then give this guy some credit for doing what he was trained to do. You don't have to like it, I certainly don't like it, but he did what he had to do.

Whilst I hate dog shootings, this one is justified. Dickhead owners... fucking idiots.

Re: Florida Cop Shoots Dog - Claims Self Defense.

They let that dog out on purpose and try to say later he "Just got out". Bullshit. They program those dogs to do that shit. I'd have loved to see them get their asses tazed as well. Pit bull owners think they can let this shit go on, and this whole "show me my respect," black-lives-matter-excuse war. Well, when someone has a gun, it's a different story, fuck face. Happy to see another pit bull turned to a pile of fucking meat. A big-ass piranha that leaves life-long scars and damage, all because someone wants to make sure they can stand their ground. Only way that would've been better is if he'd had hollow points and cunt-bag-in-the-bra got the brain matter shower. Just sayin.
lol some pussy little ****** trying to sound all hard on the internet because a dog scared him as a child (i.e. recently)... nothing to see here, moving on.

i dont know about the rest of you, but hereabouts, most have gates and if its just a bamboo length used like a bargate, visitors just dont go past that. they hail you from outside your land. if you have a gate and they knock on your door passing through the gate without permission, that's trespassing already
