Re: Fleeing Shoplifting Student Accidentally Shot in the Head by a Cop
I have no sympathy for any of them, the kids are morons for stealing and trying to run off handcuffed and the cop is a total loser, the kids had already stopped running and he tried to pistol whip them as some kind of gangster-cop punishment instead of doing his damn job and charging them with attempted escape. Also most modern handguns will NOT discharge from a minor impact such as dropping the gun or pistol whipping someone it is 99% likely he had his finger on the trigger and accidentally pulled the trigger on impact. Also he was a complete moron to throw his pistol on the ground within easy reach of the remaining suspect. Gross incompetence and no common sense at all. Definitely not a good shoot he was not shot to prevent his escape he had already been captured and was shot in cold blood as punishment there is a big difference. |

Insanity. Absolutely ridiculous. SMFH. Poor kids. They were being little shits, okay. Deserve death? No. Most of you on this site should be dead by now for everything you all did in your childhood that was just plain fucking stupid, if you believe the kid deserved it.

Re: Fleeing Shoplifting Student Accidentally Shot in the Head by a Cop
Okay, I'm going to go against the tide here. While I agree the shoplifters were stupid for running away, there is no defense on the police officer's careless use of his firearm. Did he consider alternate use of force options when attempting to detain two partially restrained individuals? Clearly he is dumb to resort to a firearm, dumber by utilizing it as a impact tool, and completely stupid by leaving it on the ground after the fact. You have a holster for a reason, use it... In this case it was the perp who got killed, but similarly it could have ended with an innocent bystander taking the hit if the barrel was in a different direction. This cop is an idiot pure and simple.

Re: Fleeing Shoplifting Student Accidentally Shot in the Head by a Cop
Because that's police mentality everywhere. They literally get away with any kind of violence they want and most of the public seems to think it's justified. "Kid should have just did what he was told", "Kid got what he deserved", "Cop's have a stressful job, it's understandable because of what he has to deal with everyday as a cop..." You know that sort of thing. Either way, cops are violent and hurt people because they are allowed to. No other reason

OK yeah, they shouldn't have broke the law. They are young adults of course they are going to make poor decisions... I suspect the cop knew why they we're fleeing, and it's not like it was bank robbery. The two kids looked as if they were stopping when the cop seemed to get a little over zealous. Sort of a big oops type of 'accident' for a trained officer to make regardless if he had to do it or not. At least he looked remorseful.
