You are VERY astute! Also well-read, refined, and knowledgeable! Many LESSER people, (such as "neer'do wells" and "Ruffians") have long assumed that the red "A" meant an adulteress. Which is SILLY, because that particular woman was CERTAINLY an adult, by ANY stretch of the imagination. So, OF COURSE she was an adultress. But what the book DOESN'T reflect, through the writers limited intelligence and poor writing skills, is that she WAS INDEED, an Artisanal Fisherwoman, skilled in the art of dangling her bait, and then capturing her prey! If you read the book thoroughly, you will understand that she was a veritable PIRANHA!  |

I watched several takes before I even realized there was someone on the far right side but I was unable to tell if the older man sitting in the middle got hit - maybe his leg got grazed. it wouldn't surprise me if the dude in the black shirt was already dead

I don't know about a scarlet letter, but I have seen writing on a french letter. It starts off as 6 point but once she's helped things along it's suddenly 72 point bold italic. (The term "french letter" might not mean much to the Americans...) |
