As an EMT what could you have done? Do you mean before the tragedy or right after? Ifit's before, how the hell were you going to know this would have happened? The only people who could have prevented this from happening would be management/owners and the attendants to an extent. The company probably didn't want to spend money on maintenance and upgrade in safety features. Who knows if the attendants made sure everyone was secured in properly. When I went to Busch Gardens, on every ride, the attendants went to each passenger to make sure our seatbelts and bars were all secure. The day were were there, they actually closed one of the rides that we were looking forward to getting on. |

Sadly, not always. I've been on-scene when some shit has happened, and sometimes no matter how fast you get there, there's no saving them thanks to the damage inflicted. All you can do is go through the motions, knowing it's futile, and hope that they're an organ-donor.
