According to the news, the safety belt broke so the park operator is 100% at fault. Similar rides are being 'grounded' nation wide until further notice. The girl's family took a RMB 870k settlement from the park, which is roughly around USD $130k. That's not even worth a two bedroom apartment in that city. Pretty bad deal given how much media exposure they got from the videos. |

Yup. I had to rewatch like 5 times to figure out what happened. I thought she got thrown but then the loud smack made no sense. The jacket got thrown, she got slammed at full speed into the ground once it spun downward, which is probably what ripped her loose from what she was stuck on.

Ive been on that ride. Its called Hell's Gate in Vancouver. It was a wicked ride and I swore I wouldnt go on it again. You felt the G forces Footage I took . . . |
