~ Obviously the Captain of that ship is in no hurry to get involved or to save the suicidal person, who may regrettably be expecting it, anyhow. ~ I would say the bridge height he jumped is about 215ft. ~ I would say he is about 6ft tall. ~ The Florida Sunshine Skyway Bridge's total height is 430 feet (131 m). ~ And half way is about 215ft., from the roadway to the water. ~ Jumping from 150 feet (46 metres) or higher on land, and 250 feet (76 metres) or more on water, is 95% to 98% fatal. ~ 150 feet/46 metres, equates to roughly 10 to 15 stories in a building, depending on the height of one story, 8-10ft. |

Yes, but you have some problems unique to water. Naje your body as narrow as possible, cover your nose m, but more importantly cover your arse and, ahem, any other openings down there. Hitting the water at speed can inject a jet of water into your body and cause serious internal injuries |

Well, like I said, they are cliff divers, and I've always seen them go in head first in a dive. I suppose if you did a cannonball, it would be like you say, but they are just diving in, then popping up and swimming back to shore, collecting their tips, and waving, and then doing it again.

Re: Filmed By a Friend in Tampa the Other Day.
That bridge has a lot of suicides apparently: At least 310 people have committed suicide by jumping from the bridge or its predecessors into the waters of Tampa Bay. An estimated 43 others have survived.[37] Many other missing persons are suspected of having jumped from the bridge but their deaths could not be confirmed as no bodies were recovered. https://www.skywaybridge.com/home.htm Some people who are presumed to have jumped but their bodies were never found: https://charleyproject.org/case/daniil-rostvinschii https://charleyproject.org/case/vanessa-blanchard https://charleyproject.org/case/dustin-pham |
