The safest way to drive or ride, is by assuming everyone else is an idiot and that you're invisible.

It is an incredible vid, possibly the best/worst footage of a high speed motorbike accident I ever saw. I gave 5 stars straight away for this upload |

Thanks, Crux - I knew you'd get to the bottom of it. Always appreciate your efforts. Kudos for finding the better video and more info. Sad case for sure. Hard to place blame. Motorcycles are notoriously hard to see at night - and he did have the green. She seemed to hesitate in her turn. Horrible accident.

Re: Fiery Crash Between Motorcycle and Honda in Louisiana - Two Dead
Based on the video it looks like the car ran the red, but I could be wrong but you can see that turning sign that says either you can turn you can't turn there ,then you see the red light after it it was clearly red, not green for the car and the other side of the road on the other direction was clearly green, but I think the driver in the car saw the motorcycle coming cuz it looks as if they slow down or stopped then they thought they can make it ,now two lives is gone , rest in peace to both of them

The person with the dash-cam and the other driver gave zero fucks. Not even an attempt to try anything to help. Did the car really have to reverse like 100 yards back. |

I agreed. Even though he was going way too fast. It was the bitch's fault. But remember we men are to be blame for even if it is not our fault.

Re: Fiery Crash Between Motorcycle and Honda in Louisiana - Two Dead
Left turning cars are the #1 cause of collisions between a car and a motorcycle. In most states, a left turning car accepts responsibility when they turn through a yield stop light. People always want to blame the biker and claim speeding.. yet the car moved, hesitated (i.e realized she shouldn't have pulled out), then went anyways. That's a textbook chain of events in this type of collision. Motorists kill motorcyclists all the time doing this and get no recourse. And yet, the news typically says "the bike hit..." even though the bike has the right of way Nothing about this video supports that the bike was "speeding". No official report says so either. Walking speed is about 3 mph, which is 4.4 fps. A mountain bike passing you at 10mph is 14.6 fps (3.3x faster). That's not even pedaling all out. So when a mountain bike passing you on a walking trail 2 feet from you, it seems fast because it's going over 3x your speed.. In other words, when a vehicle passes in front of stationary you, moving at even a "slow" road speed OFC it's going to seem fast, because relative to you, it literally is. PFP checks out |

If you're going to go, then GO!! Her hesitation seems to have caused this accident.
