One time we had a guy who looked a lot that on the table and halfway through surgery he went into CPA. CPR was not getting a response. I extubated and told the crash nurse to push sugammdex (this is to counteract the muscle paralytics) but while she was still drawing it up, he sat bold upright, grabbed my arm, looked into my eyes, and screamed, "I am falling into hell, oh I am falling into hell, you must pull me up, you must pull me up!" Then he fell back, stone dead. He had no pulse, his face looked like this, and there is no humanly possible way for him to have moved a muscle before the nimbex had time to work. I was already a Christian at this point, but if I had still been a militant atheist, I believe this incident would have shaken me to my core. I wonder if this guy was screaming inside his head too. |

West Virginia only became Republican very recently. It has always been solidly blue. The reason it flipped is because of the Democrats' war on coal and natural gas. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ts-joe-manchin. Kentucky is more purple than red. |
