The thing is though they don’t live in a free society. In a free society they’d be able to buy cheap pure pharmaceutical grade heroin or fentanyl from a reputable company that accurately labels their products would be held responsible through tort law if the purity of their product were inconsistent with its labeling and caused them to OD as a result. They died because they WEREN’T free to do this, and instead ended up having to source their vice from some black market scum that wants buy out their country from under them, price them out of having even a roof over their head, and then wants them dead while blaming them for wanting to seek escape from the ever degrading societal conditions they find themselves unable to escape.
