Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
by lane splitting, they mean being able to ride between 2 cars at a red light, instead of waiting in line that way, the bike leads off when the lights turn green, and is not surrounded by idiots in cars like they would be if they waited in line :) |

A lot of good a helmet not fastened to your head properly does as it flies past you in the air! If you don't want to wear a helmet...fine...I get that...you don't want to remember how you became a quadriplegic or how you died... |

Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
I love how bikers always get so defensive when part of their cool little club gets criticized. In this case, it was clearly just an accident. Bikes are hard to see sometimes, which is why they are required to have a headlight here in the US, although many bilkers are too cool for that. The sun probably did play a factor. Just a tragic accident. It doesnt appear that the bike was doing anything wrong either. I agree with a lot of people here though that a lot of bikers (mostly on crotch rockets) drive like complete a-holes. Whenever one of these d-bags come passing me on the shoulder, in a no passing zone, in-between lanes, or at a ridiculous rate of speed, I bow my head and pray for them......that they will be splattered all over the road a few miles ahead. Ride like an idiot, and bad things will happen. Believe it or not, there is not a separate group of laws for bikers, you have to abide by the same rules as everyone else. I will give it to people on cruiser type bikes, they are usually respectable riders. Young kids on bikes they couldnt handle in the best of conditions are usually the biggest problem. The End |

Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
That's called lane splitting and it's legal in some states but not all. Regardless, why would that make you so angry to the point you'd want to open your car door and kill that rider? We know that's what your thinking but your to big a pussy to do it. Sitting in the hot sun and sweating your ass off, and your head baking in your helmet because an ugly face like yours can slow down or stop traffic, is enough reason for me to ride around your dumb ass. |

Responsible lane splitting is good, it reduces congestion and keeps everyone safer. But then there's the people who zip by every day doing 60 or 70 when the traffic on the has backed up and slowed to about 35. Those are the kinds of people who slam into the back of someone's car because someone did a lane change and they couldn't stop in time.
