Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
I wonder what they teach in driving schools over there. in unmarked intersections, it is usually the courtesy type of merging. if you're going to utilize a lane not in your right of way, you should first observe and wait for those who have the right of way who would or might use in the time it will take you to use it. in this case the car was going to cross a counter lane. Car saw a motorcycle coming, should have estimated its approach speed and his/her(Car driver) ability before deciding if car should wait for the motor to pass first or for car to go first. and i probably missed looking but i did not notice the car signalling a turn. Car just slowed a bit and drove on without waiting. |

Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
almost exactly the same way i drive. and i was driving motorbikes and cars since i was 17. no mishaps so far. i do your no.1 but to add to that, when i flash my beam, i expect an acknowledging flash from the opposite driver. around here, one quick flash is considered just a greeting amongst motorist (motorcycle and cars), two quick flash means im going ahead or go first. one long flash means go ahead. if you flash 2 and he answered 2 that means he will not or cant give way and going forward. if he have the right of way, better yield. your no 2 is a sound advise and i do it too. quick flashing brake lights a few times before actually applying brakes gradually. your no 3 is also a must. way i do that is by keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front if there's any, with my steering wheel angled more in my own lane direction instead of the one i am going to cross. way the guy who taught me driving explained it, if one bump me from the front, with the wheel part turned, the collision will push my car away from the other's direction. reducing impact resistance. of course effective only on not too serious collision. |

I believe he said every biker he PERSONALLY KNOWS dipshit. Hey, read the comment you're trying to destroy before replying in an ignorant way. It'll make you seem like less of a douche. |

Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
I can see you have a biased opinion against motorcycle drivers, so regardless of his speed, I'm assuming it wouldn't matter in your eyes. Like DiabloLucky13 said, the speed limit there could have easily been 55+ that bike looked like he was maybe doing between 45-60 give or take a few mph. I've seen, in person, and on tons of video's, as well as the bikes I've been on..bikes going well over 80, as well as obvious lower speeds on smaller roads, and this biker, or ("road maggot") as you so ignorantly liked to put it, was not going anywhere near over 65mph. It's pretty simple, if you're a driver, and you look forward and see a car or bike coming towards you in the opposing lane, just fucking wait till they go by. What's it going to take you? A few extra seconds of your time? Would have saved a life in this case. |

Holy crap, that poor girl took on some serious airtime. The sad part is that she would of been awake and alert during her whole flight judging by the way she was launched on impact.

I agree with you guys. Not sure if she died right away or because she couldn't breathe!! If someone unconscious, that person needs CPR until EMS arrives. I've seen that some ppl could have survived if given oxygen when they couldn't at the moment. -The Krok- |

Looked like she landed on her head though. securing the chinstrap on her helmet could have helped her if the helmet is of good quality. many don't like the trouble of locking and unlocking chinstrap. even here. probably less than 20% of motorcycle i knew and saw automatically locks chinstraps when they put helmets on. most just slaps the helmet on and leave it at that.

Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
The irony in this comment. You go on to speak about how bikers are safe, yet you just watched a video of a biker being killed because a car turned in front of the biker. Let's assume the biker was NOT speeding in this situation. Would you say that riding that biker was a "safe" idea ??? You clearly realize that many people that drive cars are completely wreckless and will cause many accidents....so why would it be a good idea to put yourself on a motorcycle and surround yourself with random IDIOT car drivers? Not very safe. It's actually incredibly idiotic. You WILL die on a bike, and it will likely be because someone else caused an accident. Knowing this, means you are a complete idiot if you still choose to ride a motorcycle in public. |

Re: Female Bike Passenger Dies After They Hit an AUDI at High Speed
So, I suppose there is nothing in your life you do, that has any chance of getting you killed? You're entire argument screams of someone thinking they are better than someone else because you choose not to ride a motorcycle. I choose to ride a motorcycle and I know the risks. I do many things to mitigate those risks, which in turn reduce the chances I will get into an accident while do this thing I enjoy doing. One of those things is I save my knee dragging for the track and I ride the public roads for enjoyment and transportation. I'm guessing you eat red meat or maybe have an adult beverage now and then. These things have been proven to cause your life expectancy to shorten, but you chose to do them anyway. That doesn't make you an idiot (although by your logic, it does), it makes you an adult that has chosen to take that risk, because you have judged it to be worth it. Everyone makes those choices every day. Same thing for me and riding my bikes. By saying, "I will die" riding a bike IS pretty idiotic though. |
