Math isn't you're strong point is it? Do you realize how much ground you cover at 55mph? 81 feet or 24.5 meters per second. That would be the speed limit on roads of that type in the US. He would have had to have been going in excess of 100mph to have caused the other driver to think they could have crossed in front them safely. He clearly was not going 100+. The car driver just didn't see the bike, end of story. Probably distracted by the bike with the camera coming to the intersection and the other bike stopped on the side of the road. A mistake I have seen before, but luckily it didn't have these results. |

Yeah driving that fast with the sun in your back when you only have a bike and aren't as visible as a car in the first place is really not a good idea. The guy was lucky that he landed on the tall, fluffy grass though, I'm sure that mitigated at least some of the damage.
