India. 21-year-old A.G tragically died after being electrocuted by a faulty water-spray cooler installed outside a temple near a footwear stall. The fatal incident occurred while the young devotee was visiting the pilgrimage site with his father during the extreme summer heat.

The machine was set up by the Municipal Corporation to provide relief to pilgrims from the intense heatwave.

His father desperately tried to pull him away and suffered a mild electric shock himself. Bystanders eventually managed to separate the young man from the equipment.

He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead after resuscitation efforts failed.

The local police have launched a formal investigation. A First Information Report has been registered against the responsible contractors and municipal officials under charges of criminal negligence.

A heartbreaking scene at the hospital moved everyone to tears as the grieving father repeatedly called out, “Wake up, son. Papa is calling you.”
