He wasn't dead or even unconscious instantly like many people are assuming. He suffocated slowly while the perp sat there being an asshat and the woman seemingly afraid to even approach him. Watch the video carefully. He hit him squarely on the neck well below the skull. The blow probably fractured his spine at C1/C2 and dealt his spinal cord an unfixable injury. The effect would be instant body-wide paralysis, including his breathing muscles. So he probably laid there conscious and aware but unable to breathe for a minute or two until finally passing out. Even if he had been in downtown Manhattan and transported immediately to a world-class trauma center, I doubt he would have survived. |
