Re: Fatal Shooting of Student Holding Frying Pan and Cleaver
What the fuck, did half of you posters even bother to read the accompanying data? The kid had had a car accident a week before and had been exhibiting signs of severely altered behavior ever since, finally leading up to this. Chances are extremely high that he was suffering from a traumatic (and untreated) brain injury that was severely impacting his judgement and ability to perceive reality. My roommate's girlfriend in college had a similar incident and it took almost 6 weeks before she was not having regular hallucinations and properly engaging social filters. This was a perfectly normal kid with no criminal record, no known history of violence, and recent history of possible traumatic brain injury. Now, it is extremely sad that the cops felt the need to do what they did. Maybe I'd have done the same thing. Maybe they truly felt they had no choice. They didn't have all of the information going in and made snap judgments as necessary But we DO have the benefit of added information after the fact, and you ignorant jagoffs coming here and making racist remarks or calling this kid an idiot who deserved to die make me fucking sick. You have a fuller understanding of the situation than the officers at the scene did and you still want to denigrate this kid and rejoice in his tragic and unfortunate death? Sometimes I really hate this place and most of the people in it. |

Re: Fatal Shooting of Student Holding Frying Pan and Cleaver
I'm not shocked, just disgusted. I see it far too often here and sometimes it is more annoying than others. Fortunately, I am in a position to do something about it. This isn't the fucking YNC or Nazi Mark's Gore Knockoff site. Nor is it ever going to be. I've seen what happens when these racist shitheels overrun a site like this. Our site owner has a problem with racists, which is great for the rest of us as it means we can kick the fuck out of them here when they fail to take a hint or read the rules: "This is not a hate site, if you came here hoping to find a home for your racist or phobic beliefs, you've come to the wrong place, save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere." The rules in the WC are a bit more lax and I rarely bother policing there, but in the goddam Death sections I will always gladly find the energy to curbstomp racist halfwits. |

Re: Fatal Shooting of Student Holding Frying Pan and Cleaver
I was gonna say Ved, your efforts may just amount to sweeping up leaves on a windy day, some of these guys seem to wear their intellectual handicap with pride, but its good we have at least some intelligence around here. I was hoping to get into a little conversation abt police procedure and if maybe the cops should have attempted tackling him when they had the opportunity when he was on the ground the first time, but instead it seems like they allowed him to get back up and allowed him to casually walk back over to pick up his frying pan. That seemed weird. You wouldnt even have to read the accompanying data in this post, it is pretty clear in the video the cops made the first move shooting the taser at the guy and freaking him out, causing him to have a more menacing disposition, and then the cops allowed the perp to arm himself again after they disabled him the first time. That is the most interesting part of this video to me... but most you guys seem to be more interested in dunking on the perps race and trying to act like he deserved it. How boring and disappointing.. |

Re: Fatal Shooting of Student Holding Frying Pan and Cleaver
Yea, but why did the cops let this suspect not only get back up, but return to his frying pan, forcing them to kill him. I am not cop or a hand to hand combat expert, but what would have been the problem with tackling the suspect to put him under arrest after they tased him and shot him the first time, which disarmed him, neutralizing the threat he posed. And then they literally allowed him to get back up and killed him as soon as he grabbed his frying pan. Doesn't seem like the best de-escalation tactics, at least. And that is something I know a little bit about...I am pretty much a professional de-escalator in my day job, haha |

Re: Fatal Shooting of Student Holding Frying Pan and Cleaver
Whether he is a valedictorian, or gang banger... you can’t defend this shit. Armed with a frying pan & clever, he: holds his roommate against his will (escapes), barricades the hallway, destroying property, trying to forcibly enter other apartments, doesn’t comply with officer orders, stabs a motherfucker... and now the police are to blame. What a riot. ffs. We have hundreds of examples of piece of shit pigs catching bodies of people who seriously pose NO threat, and people want to lump this shit with the rest of them. In Texas no less. If the toxicology is clean, and it’s due to this guys car crash, it’s unfortunate at best. But at the end of the day, this dude reaped what he sewed. Smh. |
