*video is boring. The villagers all accumulate to wait around for a blockage in their dazzling new irrigation system to be fully resolved by fire. Thermamelioration, is the term I think. Anyhow, the sense of community we see here seems just unshakable. |

Naw. If the guy was alive before he was set alight, there would have been indication of a struggle. I think he was already dead, and whoever killed him yanked down his pants to further humiliate him.

Most common cause of death in burning is smoke inhalation, but it looks like this person was stoned to death by a mob, lots of big rocks everywhere. If you were burned and didn't inhale any smoke, you could live for hours with all your nerve endings burned away, no more pain except a deep dull ache from your cooked muscles. There's stories about people who were burned at the stake being fully conscious and no longer screaming in pain because their skin and nerve endings were all gone at that point.
