explosion just behind a rebel
A "landmine" has to be one of the most effective weapons ever developed. The enemy has no idea where they're at and it slows them down or deters them. Unfortunately, when the conflict/war is over, nobody remembers where they were buried and civilians, animals and children end up stepping on them. They should be universally banned and it should be considered a war-crime to use them.

You know, the title from where I got this said "landmine", but after watching it in slow-mo I'm not so sure. It almost looks like the explosion happens just behind the guy. Maybe a mortar round? |

Re: explosion just behind a rebel
There's landmines all across Ethiopia right now since the war with Eritrea, when the Eritrean army retreated they blew up every town they came across and landmined every inch of soil they left behind. Takes about 3 dollars US to make a landmine and a few thousand to bring people in to disarm them. UNICEF's working hard right now to help the families and refugees who came home after the war thinking things had finally settled down only to lose a limb, or a life, to a landmine they never knew was there. I think they should be in the same class as chemical weapons, definitely war crimes-class weaponry.
