Re: ~Executed On A Cross~

Fact check, crucifixion actually originated as a wooden stake with the victims arms above their head and their hands nailed together, one ontop of the other. Same with the feet.
It was never a cross until later when the catholic church church depicted it as one.
At its earliest use, criminals were hung on a stake. Sometimes their genitals were nailed along with their hands & feet. Arount the time of the Romans, the cross evolved into a "T" shape because it allowed prisoners to live a bit longer to be humiliated. Eventually the Romans brought the cross as we know it.

Sorry to bust you from your scholastic high horse, bro. That is incorrect. There are actually 4 (and technically 5) methods of crucifixion. It is strongly believed that Jesus was crucified on the "+" shaped cross, since in the bible it states that a sign was hung above Jesus' head stating that "Here is the King of the Jews". On any other shape of the crucifixion type, a sign could not be hung directly above his head.

Here is an article to prove my point:

So, as to your point that the "+" shaped developed later as a result of the Catholic church does not hold claim based on the evidence. If you think otherwise, please provide proof.

Re: ~Executed On A Cross~

As for specific cross-shape and the supposed evolution of the shape, let me point you to this article. Look at the paragraph regarding cross-shape. It specifically states that the Romans employed more than one shape.

Also, the most common form that the Romans used was the crux commisa ("T"-shape) and crux immisa ("+"-shape). Look in the same paragraph.

Re: ~Executed On A Cross~

Just before shooting, the narrator says, "tafrigh" meaning 'discharge or empty'. I guess that's the sentence then
