Re: Ex Cop Mario Ferreyra Commits Suicide in Front of Tv Cameras
Malevo Ferreyra was a sheriff during the military ruling in Argentina and some time after that. He was about to be arrested for human right violations and other crimes. The trials for his crimes were going on for a very very long time. After the least time he was released from custody, he said clearly that he wasn't going back to jail... ever. Cronica TV, the news channel covering the events, is always looking for gore and shock. It's part of its image. The circus music has been its signature since the beginnings. The son was on top of the tower but behind a "barricade" that the Malevo put there. Curiously, the news reporters were on the other side. The "barricade", as you can see it, was just that board that the son threw over the rail. He and Malevo's wife were against it trying to talk him out of it. They could have jumped over it and stopped him or at least tried. Everything looked strangely staged. My guess is that Malevo invited Cronica to make a scene of the whole incident and told his family that he was going to do as much as possible to resist. But the suicide was in his mind all that time and took everyone by surprise. The moment when he took his gun and shoot was when the Gendarmería (border guard but they do arrests when other police forces are involved) walked into his property to arrest him. If you look around the net, there are videos with the whole incident, before and after the suicide. |
