Saw a news item today of an elephant from a circus or something in the mid-west that got spooked by a car so she ran away, and there was video of her just barrel assing down the street, with a liberated "I'M FREE! FREE, YOU HEAR!" happy gait to her running. They got her back with no further incident  |

CNN had a very depressing Special today on the plight of elephants in the indian sub-continent. Elephants still in the wild have to feed in garbage dumps and sometimes eating plastics because of the encroachment of man on what was once their territory. Some farmers and districts put explosives into large fruits and vegetables that explode when the elephants' bite down. I couldn't watch anymore when I saw one elephant that survived that no longer had a lower jaw that was rescued and feeding  |
