That was when the electrical system in his body broke down, and stopped sending signals to his muscles to clutch. Thus his fingers opened and he was freed from the electricity. Kind of like the electrons releasing a dove at a wedding.  |

He was shown straddling an aerial cable that ran parallel to the building, and he was pretty far from the bldg, close to the pole. I can't imagine how he got in that position except by shimmying along the cable for a good distance. Crazy!
