Residents of the Omifon community in Odigbo local government area, Ondo State, were thrown into panic last Wednesday after a suspected vandal was reportedly killed while attempting to steal from an electrical transformer in the area.

According to sources within the community, the as-yet-unidentified suspect was allegedly damaging an armored cable connected to the transformer when the tragic incident occurred.

A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the electricity supply was active at the time of the incident. “The suspect was electrocuted in the process, as the high-voltage current from the installation proved fatal. He died instantly.”
