Peru. An 83-year-old man, C.C.T, died after being run over by a dump truck on a crosswalk last Tuesday afternoon.

The elderly man arrived in the neighborhood aboard a public bus and after getting out of the vehicle, the man began crossing the road through the space between other vehicles while the pedestrian light was red but the traffic light changed and the dump truck, began moving down the lane and struck the pedestrian, causing injuries that resulted in his death.

The heavy vehicle was driven by E.M.C, 46. He and the dump truck were taken to the police station, where the investigation would continue to determine the circumstances of the accident and establish the corresponding responsibilities.

The images from the security cameras will be considered as part of the proceedings, since they allow the reconstruction of the moments before and after the impact but the truck driver never saw him as the elderly man was walking in the truck's blind spot.

The dump truck had a blind spot. I think the victim was just plain "blind" and stupid.
