Elderly Man Dies when Crossing the Road and Getting Hit by a Car
Mexico, An elderly man died when he was hit by a car when he tried to cross the street at a crosswalk after visiting a market and when heading to a bus stop on the other side of the road. After the report to the 911 emergency line, personnel from the Medical Emergency arrived at the scene, and tried to revive him with CPR but did not manage to save his life. The municipal police arrived shortly after and cordoned off the area and reported it to the State Attorney General's Office, to start the corresponding proceedings. Personnel from the Directorate of Expert Services went to the place, to carry out the corresponding expert opinion and lifted the body of the deceased to transfer it to the SEMEFO where a rigorous necropsy will be applied. Security cameras captured the moment in which the victim was run over, which will serve for the Prosecutor's Office to carry out the investigations and with the person responsible for the accident. |

Judging by the shadows being cast by the cars, the sun could have been low in the sky and was blinding the driver.

He should have taken shelter in the hutment. Then he wouldn't have been hit.

Re: Elderly Man Dies when Crossing the Road and Getting Hit by a Car
~ Because of the marked crosswalk the driver is guilty. ~ I don't see a stoplight so it also stands. Marked crosswalks means to automatically watch & yield to pedestrians. ~ However, it does look like it was around dusk, which means the sun was low & offered low visibility due to glare, but if the driver was a regular driver on that road then the driver should have known better. |
