I found these on Telegram and wasn't sure where (or if) to post them. Nothing gory but footage of some of the various locations they attacked.

"Ecuador was rocked by armed attacks, and a state of emergency was declared in the country

-Gunmen seized the local TV studio TC Television, however, 13 attackers were detained. The incident happened a day after a group of prisoners escaped from the prison. Among them is one of the most famous leaders of the country's drug cartels, Jose Adolfo Macias, the leader of the Los Choneros gang.

-Amidst the prison escapes, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa signed a decree declaring a state of emergency in the country.

-The prisoners took more than a hundred prison guards hostage and threatened to kill them if the military entered the territory of the prisons. Hostages were also taken in other cities.

-In Guayaquil, attackers seized hospitals, although order has already been restored. Bandits capture administrative buildings and even the subway. People are taken hostage and kidnapped."

Corruption in prison gaurds and police is a way of life there.. The gaurds getting killed are either the few not corrupt or they're sided with a rival gang.

All it takes is a few violations of protocol or a guard bored out of their minds killing time & not paying attention.

If you’re locked up, no matter the reason, one of the very few entertaining things to do is observe every movement of the guards for exploits.

Speaking from unfortunate experience, the inmates watch the guards a LOT more than the other way around.

Anyone who knows their way around radio equipment could easily sneak into comms and request a gate open. Easily. A 20 dollar radio off of Amazon and extremely basic VHF or UHF knowledge could have a field day. Few jails or prisons have upgraded to digital and/or encryption. & I’m speaking generally of American facilities, this dump would be a likely worse situation.

Sucks to be a guard or an inmate. What a shithole to be associated with.
