I'm sure the company responsible is in a lot of trouble. Possibly for not having a reverse alarm, not having the area closed to pedestrians, no spotter and more. My brother worked for a electric company that did street lights and signals at intersections. And they were lifting a pole into place in a intersection that was open. The crane truck flipped over and landed on some poor guys car killing him. Besides the fines and the settlement with the family, osha followed their crews around for the next 6 months. Crazy side note to that story is the guy in the car who was crushed. Was shot a few weeks prior. It's like he was cursed or something. |
